5’ Cap Analysis
Test Introduction
Efficient translation of mRNA to protein depends critically on a 5'-terminal dinucleotide modification called capping which is appended to mRNA during or after the transcription process. Importantly, the percentage of successfully capped material and the type of capping structure appended is influenced by factors such as the quality of input materials, the reaction conditions, and the mRNA sequence. mRNA 5' capping is therefore a critical quality attribute that should be thoroughly characterized and monitored.
